MartialBlend Fitness
For children of color, the world can sometimes be a very dangerous place. At Modern Scholars, it is our mission to equip our children with the physical tools necessary to survive and thrive. From instilling the core concepts of healthy nutrition and mental wellbeing to our Personal Protection and Fitness Program, we are dedicated to giving our children the foundation for a healthy and successful start.
The Right to Read
Wisdom follows knowledge. And reading enhances that knowledge. Reading also improves vocabulary, communication as well as grammar and writing skills. Reading is virtually essential to every aspect of a quality life. That is why Modern Scholar’s Right to Read Initiative strives to make reading a primary component our comprehensive programs.
Kapital Gains – Financing 101
In the United States, Black, Hispanic, and Native American populations tending to have lower rates of financial literacy. Financial illiteracy can have a profound negative effect on a person’s ability to save for their future and increase their risk of higher debt and lower savings. Beginning financial education at an early age is critical for long-term financial well-being. Our programs are designed to educate our youth about budgeting, spending/borrowing, credit and so much more!
Urban Democracy
By the People, For the People. Our Democracy provides equal rights for ALL citizens. Our Democracy also provides a system to deal with differences and disagreements and also allows us to correct our own mistakes. It is important for youth to understand the Democracy they live in and their rights as citizens of a free nation.
The Cultural Pathways Initiative
More and more we live in a global society. It is imperative that we learn to respect and value other cultures. Our programs introduce our youth the inherent beauty and wonder of other cultures through, roundtables, cultural events and exchanges.
